We continued to work with our numbers 0-20 today. We played a round of vingt. Then we did a listening practice, which models the assessment this week. Then students used decks of cards to play "guerre" practicing their numbers.

We took notes on numbers 11-20 today. Then we played "vingt" twice. Then students worked in their table groups to play a shortened version of "Guerre" (war) with a deck of cards. They had to add the two cards together and say the answer in French to win the cards.

We worked one last day with numbers 0-10. We went over the homework then students did the hand activity again. Lastly, we played two games of dix. Tomorrow we will add on numbers 11-20.

We worked with our numbers 0-10 again. We played two rounds of "Dix". Then we did an activity with partners with dice and another activity using their hands. Then they had a practice worksheet to complete, this is homework if they didn't finish.

We took notes on numbers 0-10. Then students practiced giving their phone number using French numbers. Then they used their hands to play a game with a partner where they had to show a certain number of fingers between 0 and 5 and add them with their partners fingers shown and say the answer in French. Then we did an activity called "Dix(deese)" using our new vocab words. Students then completed a numbers worksheet, this is homework if they didn't finish.

We wrapped up our salutations/greetings unit today. Students had a "petite conversation" with several of their classmates using all our vocab. Ask your student about it! Next week we will begin numbers.

We used our greetings vocab to practice answering how we were given various situations I had on the board. Then we used chromebooks to play quizlet live with our vocab. Students changed teams several times. Tomorrow we will wrap up our greetings unit by having short conversations.

We took our last set of notes on "Les Salutations" today. The vocab was asking and answering how you are. Students practiced asking and answering with a partner. Then I showed a video that uses this vocab. We will work with this vocab through Friday of this week and be heading in to learning numbers next week.

Students practiced asking and answering what their name is. Then they completed a half sheet paper with various situations on it and they had to determine how they would respond in French. Several volunteers wrote their answers on the board.

A few students had to complete their speaking alphabet assessment today so we did that first. Then I collected and worksheets from Friday if students didn't turn them in then. Next, we took the first page of notes on our new unit "Salutations" (Greetings). We repeated our words and students had a mini conversation using different greetings and closings. We also watched a short video using this vocab and a short cultural video on "la bise" the cheek to cheek kiss greeting used in French speaking countries. We will continue with this tomorrow.

We did not have school yesterday due to the power being out. Students completed their alphabet speaking assessment today. While others were assessing, they completed two worksheets - one on accent marks and the other on our basic French vocab words. I collected them if they were finished with them, if not they are homework this weekend and I'll collect them on Monday.

We went over our Basic French Vcoab. Then we watched an introduction video about French and the French speaking world. Then we took notes on the French alphabet and accent marks. We practiced saying them together and then I played one song for them to help them with the pronunciation of the letters. We will continue to practice next week.
