Students had all class to work on their rough draft and/or start their project. We will be working on this in class through next Wednesday and projects are due next Thursday at the beginning of class.

I showed the students several examples of family/friend projects so they would have an idea of what they might want to do for their project. They had the rest of time to work on their rough draft. We finished our notes on family today. Then students completed a family tree activity that I gave them. Tomorrow I will be giving them their family/friend project description and showing them many examples.

We took notes on family members. Then we completed a family tree using our new words and watched a video on family. The video included a clip on a typical French wedding and we discussed how that is similar and different from the US.

Students practiced giving the date in French by playing a version of connect 4 called "Connecte 5". Then they had time to add the months of the year to their "wheel".

We continued to work with our months of the year today. We watched two short video clips that use our days and months. Then students completed a months worksheet. We also took notes on numbers 21-31 so students could give the date for any month. Students also practiced asking and giving their birthday. Students had the last ten minutes to begin to add the months to their "wheel".

We used our days of the week flashcards to work with a partner again to start class. Then we took notes on the months of the year (vocab 4b2) - we didn't get to the numbers 21-31 or the seasons yet. Then we did a worksheet using our days of the week and the months of the year.

We worked with our days of the week today. Students created flashcards that we did two activities with. Then they did a speaking partner activity and finished by working on their wheel if they needed to add more to it from yesterday.

We took notes on the days of the week today (vocab 4b1). Then we listened to a song to the tune of Addams Family that uses our days of the week. Here is the link to that song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MGlrogJkVk 
Then students read through two small dialogues using our new words and they completed an activity with a partner.
Then I gave them a "Wheel" picture that will be a mini-project for this unit. The wheel will summarize our days of the week, months of the year and seasons in French. We will work on this sporadically over the next week as we learn the other words.

Students worked with a partner to complete a color activity I had on the board. Then they selected a picture to color - the colors were listed in French. They had the rest of class to work on it and will have tomorrow as well. These mini-projects are due at the beginning of class Wednesday.

We worked with colors again today. We used some flags of French speaking countries to practice saying the colors. Then we used our color cards. Lastly we played "un" (uno) using our colors and numbers. Ask your student how to say the special cards in French. We had a lot of fun with this today!

We worked with our salutations vocab one last day today. I displayed some various situations and students responded to how they would be in those situations with a partner. Then we did a little conversation using all of our vocab. We wrapped up class with some quizlet live. Tomorrow we will be learning colors.

We finished our notes on our Salutations unit today by learning how to ask and answer "How are you?" We watched a short video clip on this vocab. Then students worked with a partner to answer how they were based on some pictures I put on the board. Then they completed a written practice that I gave them and we went over it before they left.

Classes were shorter today due to transition day. Students took their numbers assessment then we played the stand up/sit down game for the rest of class today.
