We worked with number 0-20 one last day. We did a practice listening assessment to prepare for tomorrow's assessment. Then students were in groups of 3 and used a deck of cards to play a version of "war" in French and had to answer in French in order to win the cards.

We began class with a quick game of dix. Then we took notes on numbers 11-20. Students then completed a worksheet practicing with their numbers.

Students watched a culture video on the Catacombs in France. While watching they wrote 10 facts they learned from the video. They turned their facts into the sub. Then they had a numbers worksheet to complete using numbers 0-10, this is homework if they didn't finish.

We worked with numbers 0-10 today. Students practiced giving their phone numbers with a partner. Then we used dice to practice numbers too. Then we played a game called "dix". We will continue to work with these numbers next week as well and add on numbers 11-20.

Students did a little conversation with many classmates today wrapping up our Salutations unit. Then we took notes on numbers 0-10, which we will work with tomorrow.

We continued to work with our Salutations vocab today. Students practiced asking their classmates how they were based on 11 situations on had up on the board. Then we watched a short video that used our vocab. Then students created a short conversation using our vocab. We will wrap up this topic tomorrow.

We finished our Salutations vocab with learning how to ask someone how they are and how to respond. Students practiced asking their classmates and answering. Then they completed a half sheet worksheet using this vocab and I played a couple songs that use this vocab.

We began taking notes on Salutations. Students practiced greeting each other in different ways and asking what their classmates names were. We will continue to work on this tomorrow.

Students took their speaking assessment over the French alphabet today. While students were assessing, students completed a worksheet over our basic French vocab words. If they didn't finish it in class, it is homework. If they finished it, I did collect it. We will start new vocab on Monday!

We practice our French alphabet and accent marks one last day. I played both songs, then I spelled 5 words for them and they spelled 5 words with a partner. We finished class with a game using our alphabet and accent marks.

We continued to work with our French alphabet and accent marks. We listened to the songs. Then we did a listening practice where I spelled words for them using the French alphabet and accent marks and they had to see if they could determine what the word was. Then they worked with a partner to play hangman but they had to guess letters using the French alphabet.

Today we finished our notes on Basic French Vocab words. These are words they will hear me use on a frequent basis and we will continue to work with them into next week. Today students selected French first names (if they wanted to) and we practiced saying "My name is ___" using their French first name. I also showed them a cultural video about "la bise" the cheek to cheek kiss they use in the French culture when they greet each other. To finish off class, I played a French pop song called "Le plus fort du monde" by the artist Black M.

Today I collected the syllabus from students that had them signed - they are officially due on Monday.  Students filled out an information sheet for me so I could learn more about them and their interests. Then I had students try to duplicate a paper construction that I had created and we had a conversation about why I would have them do such an activity and how it pertained to French/School/Life. Tomorrow we will be choosing French first names if students want to.

Welcome back!!! Today we went over the syllabus and students should be bringing it home for a parent to sign. Also, there is the remind sheet that allows parents and students to sign up for texts or emails that I send out when there is homework or an upcoming assessment.
