We began some basic French vocab terms that we will continue tomorrow. We also talked about Mardi Gras coming up and students have the option to purchase croissants for that day if they'd like. They are $2.25 for the apple, strawberry cream cheese, blueberry cream cheese or chocolate ones and the plain ones are $2.00. All orders need to be placed and paid for by next Monday.

Today I showed them my website and where the blog is located. They can check the blog if they are absent to see what was done in class. Then students picked French first names.

Today I introduced myself to the class. I also gave them the syllabus to take home and have signed by a parent or guardian. Students will also need a binder or folder for this class.

Students took their parts of the body assessment today. Then we began watching Beauty and the Beast in French. This is how we will end our quarter and we will be having crepe this week!!

We worked with body parts one last day. Students did a worksheet where they had to label the body parts in both French and English and we played "Jacques a dit".

We used quizlet and quizlet live to work with our body parts vocab today. Students will have a matching assessment over this vocab next Tuesday.

We worked with body parts today. We played "Jacques a dit" which is Simon Says but in French. Then students practiced writing the body parts by completing a worksheet where they had to label the body parts on an alien.

We learned about body parts today. I played the French-Canadian song "Alouette" which uses some body parts in the lyrics and students practiced their new vocab by repeating after me and touching the corresponding body part. We will continue with this tomorrow.

Due to the snow day Friday, I moved the family/friend project due date to tomorrow. So students had all class period to work on their project in the computer lab today. All projects will be due at the beginning of class tomorrow.

We worked with our family member vocab today. Students worked with a partner to do an activity I had on the board. Then we took our last set of notes talking about age and how to give the name, age and birthday of a family member. I handed out the Family/Friend project which students will be working on the rest of the week. I will be showing examples tomorrow in class as well.

Today we began learning about family members. We took notes on family members. Then we watched an intro video that goes with family members from the French 1 textbook.
