We continued to work with our days of the week and months of the week. Students worked with a partner to practice asking and giving the date. Then they individually completed a worksheet practicing their months of the year. Then I gave them a "wheel" which will be a mini-project we do this week. This wheel will summarize our days of the week, months of the year and seasons.

We wrapped up our color unit by students completing a French color by number picture. They had all of today and will have tomorrow to finish their picture and turn them in. Then we will move on to our unit on days of the week, months of the year, and seasons.

We worked with our colors again today. Students did an activity I displayed on the board where they had to say the color a word was written in versus the color word it said. Then we played "uno" in French. We finished class with a short game of stand up/sit down.

We used our Salutations vocab to practice answering how we are. Students used scenarios I had up on the board to say how they would feel in that situation. Then we did a little "petite conversation" where students had a mini conversation with half of their classmates all in French! Lastly, they completed 4 sections of a worksheet which we will check tomorrow. This is homework if they didn't finish.

Lastly, students had the choice to study in whichever way would be help them - with a partner, individually, playing hangman but asking for the letters in French, etc.

We worked with the French Alphabet and accent marks. I played two songs to help the students remember the French alphabet. Students practiced spelling their French first name with partners then I spelled 5 words for them using the French alphabet.

Then students individually completed pg 48 #1. Then they received a "wheel" type picture that will become a mini-project and summarize our days of the week, months of the year and seasons. Today they added their name to their wheel and the days of the week. We will continue to add to this wheel over the next week or so.

Today students selected French first names (if they wanted to) and we practiced saying "My name is ___" using their French first name. I also showed them a cultural video about "la bise" the cheek to cheek kiss they use in the French culture when they greet each other. To finish off class, I played a French pop song called "Le plus fort du monde" by the artist Black M.

Today I collected the syllabus from students that had them signed - they are officially due on Monday.  Students filled out an information sheet for me so I could learn more about them and their interests. Then I had students try to duplicate a paper construction that I had created and we had a conversation about why I would have them do such an activity and how it pertained to French/School/Life. Tomorrow we will be choosing French first names if students want to.

Then we watched that dialogue and a cultural short video clip on a French wedding and how that differs from weddings here in the US. Then students did an activity with a partner and labeled a different family tree. Lastly, they used their family tree to work with a partner and ask questions about their partner's family tree.

Today I introduced myself and the class procedures. Students received a syllabus to bring home to have signed, as well as, instructions to sign up for my remind. I use remind to send out messages when there is homework or an assessment.

We took our last set of notes on family information. Then students completed a family tree and practiced using the French words for my with family members. Then we went over the Family/Friend project they will begin working on tomorrow. I will talk more about this tomorrow in class and they will have time after break to work on it as well. We took notes on family members today. We also watched a video about family members and weddings in France.

Lastly, students had a months worksheet to complete with pictures and then they worked on their "wheels" which are due Thursday at the beginning of class.

I updated them on our March Music Madness results. Then we worked with our flashcards for the days of the week and months of the year. Then we did a listening activity with dates in our lecon 4 packet. Lastly, students had a months worksheet to complete with pictures and then they worked on their "wheels" which are due Thursday at the beginning of class.

We took notes seasons and on numbers 21-31 for the date. Students practiced giving their birthday and other dates with an activity I had up on the board. Then they completed the worksheet titled "devoir #31 la date", this is homework if they didn't finish it.

We took notes on our months of the year today. Then students added their months of the year and a picture or color associated with each month to their 'wheel' picture.

We used our flashcards to do a couple activities on days of the week. Then we used ipads to play a couple of kahoot games using this vocabulary and older vocabulary.

Students finished T'choupi that they began yesterday with the sub. Then we worked with our days of the week vocab. Students began creating a "wheel" that will be used to summarize our days of the week, months of the year and seasons. We also did a listening activity and students began making flashcards to use in class too.

I played our 2 songs for "La Manie Musicale de Mars" and the voting will open Monday. This is our equivalent of March Madness but with French music, students created brackets and will vote each day on their favorite until we have a song champion for our classes.

We did a little conversation activity today wrapping up our salutations unit and then played the stand up, sit down game until the end of class. Monday we will begin a new unit.

We continued to use our Salutations vocab today. Students created short conversations with one another using greetings and questions. Several students modeled this for their classmates. Then they completed a short worksheet using our vocabulary.

We worked with numbers 0-20 again today. Students played a version of war using French numbers and adding their cards together and having to say the correct answer in French to earn the cards.
Then students completed worksheet "les maths 1-20"

We worked with numbers 0-10 today. Students practiced by working with a partner to do a hand activity and a dice activity. Then we played a game called "dix". Then students completed a worksheet practicing numbers.

We worked with our French alphabet and accent marks again today. Students sang the songs. Then I spelled 8 words for them using the French alphabet and accent marks. Then they worked with a partner to play hangman but they had to ask for letters using the French alphabet. Then they completed a worksheet practicing their accent marks.

We worked with our accent marks and alphabet again today. I played the songs and then students practiced spelling their name using the French alphabet. I also spelled five words for students for them to practice hearing the letters. We will continue to work with this for the next couple of days.

We began some basic French vocab terms that we will continue tomorrow. We also talked about Mardi Gras coming up and students have the option to purchase croissants for that day if they'd like. They are $2.25 for the apple, strawberry cream cheese, blueberry cream cheese or chocolate ones and the plain ones are $2.00.  All orders need to be placed and paid for by next Monday.

We worked with body parts one last day. Students did a worksheet where they had to label the body parts in both French and English and we played "Jacques a dit".

We worked with body parts today. We played "Jacques a dit" which is Simon Says but in French. Then students practiced writing the body parts by completing a worksheet where they had to label the body parts on an alien.

We learned about body parts today. I played the French-Canadian song "Alouette" which uses some body parts in the lyrics and students practiced their new vocab by repeating after me and touching the corresponding body part. We will continue with this tomorrow.

Due to the snow day Friday, I moved the family/friend project due date to tomorrow. So students had all class period to work on their project in the computer lab today.  All projects will be due at the beginning of class tomorrow.

We worked with our family member vocab today. Students worked with a partner to do an activity I had on the board. Then we took our last set of notes talking about age and how to give the name, age and birthday of a family member. I handed out the Family/Friend project which students will be working on the rest of the week. I will be showing examples tomorrow in class as well.
