We had a relaxing day in class today. We finished our movie Elf. We will begin numbers on Monday.

We wrapped up our Salutations unit today. Students completed a short worksheet using our vocab. Then they had a short conversation using our vocab. Half of the students rotated around the room having the conversation with a different person every 30 seconds.

We worked with our Salutations vocab. We did two activities from the book with situations and how they would feel if they were in that situation. Then we used quizlet live today to practice our words.

We did a half sheet worksheet using our notes from yesterday. We took our last set of notes on how to ask and answer how you are. Students practiced asking each other. We also watched the video that goes along with the textbook as well.

We took notes on Les Salutations (Greetings). We also watched two short videos that use this vocab and discussed the cultural differences in how people greet each other. Then I played a song for them that used this vocab as well. Tomorrow we will learn how to ask and answer how we are.

Students completed their alphabet speaking assessment today. While students were testing, the others watched Elf. Tomorrow we will begin a unit on greetings.

We worked with our French alphabet and accent marks today. I collected the homework accent worksheet if they didn't turn it in yesterday. Then we listened to our songs. Then I spelled 6 words for them and they wrote them down. Then they practiced spelling their French first name with three people. Lastly, they played hangman in French where they had to ask for the letters using the French alphabet.

We had a snow day yesterday. Today we took notes on the French alphabet and accent marks. Students then practiced their accent marks by completing a worksheet I gave them. This is homework if they did not finish it in class.

About half the class was significantly late due to the weather and late busses. So we worked with our basic French vocab words versus starting the French alphabet and accent marks today. Students were given a wordsearch using their basic French vocab words where they had to write the English and find the French word. This is homework if they didn't finish.

I was on a field trip to the DIA with my 8th graders today, so the students watched a cultural video about the French catacombs put on by the history channel.

We watched a French cartoon called "T'choupi" today. We will finish it on Monday during their advisory class when I make crêpe for them : )
