We wrapped up our greetings unit today. Students did an activity that I displayed on the board asking their classmates how they were given the situation. Then we had a little "petite conversation" using our vocab. Ask your student what all they could say in French. Tomorrow we will begin numbers 0-10.

We finished our notes on greetings by learning how to ask and answer how are you in French. We watched a short video that uses this new vocab. Then students completed a short worksheet using these words.

We took notes on our second page of greetings vocab. Tomorrow we will finish our notes on this unit. Students had a short conversation with two of their classmates and I played two songs that use this vocab. Students also completed a worksheet using our new vocab words.

We began taking notes on greetings today. Students had a short conversation with their classmates using different ways to say hello and goodbye. We also had some good conversations about French culture and stereotypes. We will continue our greetings unit on Monday.

Students took their speaking assessment over the French alphabet today. As students were assessing, they completed a worksheet on our basic French vocab words, this is homework if they didn't finish. Tomorrow we will begin our unit on greetings.

We spoke about Mardi Gras, which is coming up March 5th and we will be celebrating Fat Tuesday in class by learning about the holiday and how it's celebrated in the Francophone world. Student have the chance to purchase croissants from Benny's Bakery in Saline anytime between now and next Monday. The flavors are plain, chocolate, strawberry cream cheese, blueberry cream cheese, apple and nutella with nuts. The plain are $2 each and the flavors are $2.25 each. Students can bring the money in anytime between now and Monday, which is when I need to place the order with the bakery.

Today we worked with our French alphabet one last time. We listened to the songs. Then I spelled words for the students using the alphabet and accent marks. Lastly, students played hangman with partners and had to ask for the letters in French.

We had two snow days the past two days. We took notes on the French alphabet and accent marks. We listened to two songs to help them learn the French alphabet here are the links to them:

We worked with our basic French vocab words today. Students used ipads to play quizlet live in small groups. We will begin the French alphabet and accent marks on Monday.

Since we didn't have school yesterday due to the ice we finished our Basic French Vocab today in class. We repeated these words and then we watched two intro videos about French and French speaking countries. We also talked about how people typically greet one another here in the US versus France.  We practiced giving our French first name too.

I collected the syllabus if they had it signed. Then students filled out an information sheet for me. Then we selected French first names and finished by talking about some basic French vocab words.
